General Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and upgrade test scripts, tools, and data sets for testing
• Perform usability testing for system performance, reliability, scalability, and security
• Effectively communicate testing activities and findings
• Manage daily test activities
• Provide internal quality assurance
• Support test lead in risk identification and mitigation
• Organize and maintain the test script library
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience

General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of software testing methods, tools, and technology
• Use of quality management methods, tools, and technology for defect-free software
• Understanding of application development methodologies
• Proficiency in writing complex queries for data validation and troubleshooting
• Expertise in at least one object-oriented language
• Understanding of operating systems and applications
• Ability to understand and prioritize client needs
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in an agile development environment
• Ability to deliver results under pressure

FIS Job Level Description: This is a career level role that involves developing and implementing solutions through analysis and research. The role requires working on small to large, complex projects in multiple technical environments. The candidate should have knowledge in a specific business area and can work as part of a team or occasionally as a project lead. Coaching of junior technical staff may be required. The role operates under general supervision with room for independent judgement and may consult with senior peers on certain projects. At least four years of demonstrated experience in software testing is typically required.
