Clinical Nurse II, Oncology - Registered Nurse

We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Nurse II, Oncology to provide direct care to our Oncology patients in an outpatient setting. As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver nursing care in accordance with approved policies and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. With your expertise in decision-making, technical skills, and interpersonal abilities, you will effectively manage patient assignments and provide safe and independent care.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assess and address the healthcare needs and learning needs of our diverse oncology patient population.
• Review and incorporate lab diagnostic data into patient assessments.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring to enhance the care of our oncology patients.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans based on disease processes, anticipated outcomes, treatment complications, and psychosocial needs.
• Facilitate appropriate referrals to other interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
• Demonstrate proficiency in technical skills, such as IV therapy equipment utilization, universal precautions, and body mechanics.
• Establish peripheral or central catheter access for IV therapy according to protocol, ensuring verification of lab results before preparing medications.
• Administer IV therapy as ordered by the medical doctor.

Education:

We require an Associate degree/college diploma in Nursing. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.

License & Certifications:

• A valid CA RN license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• ONS Chemo/Immunotherapy certification is preferred.

Experience:

One (1) year of acute care experience in the specialty is required, and for the Infusion Center, ONS Chemo/Immunotherapy certification is required.
