About Us
At Hiawatha Academies, we serve a diverse community of students and families. Our Language Access and Support Team (LAST) provides translation and interpretation services for our families and ensures effective communication throughout our network. 

We are currently seeking a Language Access Operations Coordinator (LAOC) who is fluent in Spanish. As part of our LAST team, the LAOC will handle the team's operations, including coordinating language requests, offering support and resources to staff, and providing Spanish translations and interpretation services both in person and virtually. The LAOC will work under the guidance of the Language Access and Support Director.   

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and managing language request systems
  • Support the distribution of communications on behalf of LAST
  • Provide Spanish/English language support for meetings, phone calls, etc.
  • Serve as a Language Site Coordinator for one campus
  • Assist with Spanish/English translations for various documents
  • Collaborate with the LAST team to develop staff training and resources
  • Support social workers in family communication
  • Provide general operations support for LAST
    • Collaborate on scheduling plans for events requiring interpretation
    • Track interpreter performance/feedback
    • Develop and analyze satisfaction surveys
    • Perform assigned administrative tasks

Employment Details
  • This position is on the Network Support Team and serves all Hiawatha Academies campuses.
  • Work hours for Network Support Team members are from 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM. Individual schedules will be set with the Language Access and Support Director.
