Job Description: - Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and management to build and innovate cutting-edge technology products. - Provide expertise in reviewing and improving action plans. - Work with peers to evaluate and enhance products to meet business needs. - Take initiative in working on proof of concept projects, utilizing Nielsen's historical data to develop scalable software solutions for complex problems involving big data and cloud technologies. - Define and implement a structure and design framework for application design, hardware, software, and network environments. - Develop and execute application test plans, analyze results, and make revisions to ensure proper functionality. - Assist in planning, estimation, development, staffing, and documentation for highly complex product development involving complex data and technologies. - Mentor junior team members and promote skills development. - Review and approve all development and production changes related to cloud infrastructure. - Ensure compliance with regulations and legal requirements when handling restricted and sensitive information. - Collaborate with third-party data providers and design software components accordingly. - Work with the data lake team to review and implement data usage policies and address issues with external teams. - Participate in internal/external hiring processes for the team. - Opportunity to telecommute up to three (3) days per week within the Oldsmar, FL area. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with a focus on information technology, plus five (5) years of software development experience, OR Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with a focus on information technology, plus three (3) years of software development experience. - Experience in master data management, software design and testing principles, data warehousing applications, and data models using Spark. - Proficiency in software development tools, analytical problem-solving, and working as part of a team. - Experience with Scala and/or Java languages, CI/CD software system development best practices, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Docker/Kubernetes. - Opportunity to telecommute up to three (3) days per week within the Oldsmar, FL area.
