Job Description

Job Summary:

            The Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary to maintain facility operation and compliance with the LSI’s Pretreatment Industrial User Permit, at all times. They will oversee all Team Members in the WWTP to make sure all guidelines and Team Member safety is being followed at all times. Performed semiskilled, skilled, technical and specialized work in the operation of the wastewater treatment facility.  

 

Job Related Skills/Responsibilities

    • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results if needed.
    • Budget Planning throughout the year
    • Environmental safety.
    • Make regular tours of the wastewater facility; read charts, gauges, and other instruments; and record information on plant logs.
    • Collect wastewater and sludge samples and perform field and laboratory analysis on samples.
    • Interpret data accumulated and make equipment and process control changes.
    • Assume direct responsible charge for the operation of the wastewater treatment facility.
    • Perform minor maintenance and labor tasks, including general housekeeping.
    • Follow Lean Manufacturing Processes; team building, consistency in high quality, preventative maintenance, good work place conditions, productive work, etc.
    • Operate, inspect, and monitor SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) control panel and a wide variety of mechanical and electrical equipment while operating a variety of unit processes used in the treatment of wastewater.
    • Maintain compliance with Pretreatment Industrial User Permit.
    • Monitor workflow to maximize machine output efficiencies.
    • Keep accurate records of products produced and materials used.
    • Suggest improvements; continuously improve the quality of all support activities.
    • Tasks will vary as situations and demands change.

Administrative Skills

    • Able to organize and prioritize in a multi-tasking environment.

    • Able to supervise, instruct, and direct Team Members
    • Knowledge of the fundamentals of physical, chemical, and biological wastewater treatment.
    • Operational knowledge of the machines, equipment, and unit operations used in treatment of wastewater and anaerobic digestion and dewatering of associated sludges.
    • Knowledge of and ability to apply sampling and preservation techniques.
    • Knowledge of the interpretation of laboratory data and its application to process control.
    • Operational knowledge of hydraulics.
    • Knowledge of and ability to apply the occupational hazards or safety precautions relating to the safe handling of extremely hazardous chemicals and the safe operation of mechanical and electrical equipment.
    • Mechanical aptitude and ability to prevent and troubleshoot equipment failures.

Personnel

  • Follow good manufacturing practices along with company pre-requisite programs, SOP’S and SSOP’s.
  • Ensure that all team members are adequately and properly trained in safety, sanitation procedures, chemical handling and GMP’s, etc.
  • Enforce all safety rules and company policies.
  • Ensure proper staffing is maintained, including interviewing and hiring new team members.
  • Implement and monitor training for new hires and continuing training of current team members.
  • Maintain attendance records, counsel team members with poor attendance, and follow up with coaching/discipline as appropriate.
  • Appraise work performance: conduct appropriate reviews for team members; give coaching/discipline as appropriate in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Review, correct, and approve timekeeping tool to ensure team members are paid correctly each pay period.
  • Provide appropriate interpretation of company policies and safety procedures.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience

      • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
      • Minimum Class III Waste Water Operator License/Certification

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. Travel may be required.

    Additional Information

    The salary range for this role is $90,000 - 110,000.

    Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Link Snacks Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards.
