Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The basic function of a Material Handler is to supply product to the production lines in order to keep the lines running in a timely and accurate manner.
SHIFT: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; 5am -5pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
Responsible for moving product to and from the production lines in order to keep the machines running.
Responsible for processing within product specifications.
Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move items
Follow all safety procedures and regulations
Adheres to all Food Safety Quality requirements
Maintain accurate records of product movement
Responsible for all job rotation tasks such as placing empty containers on line, observing filling process, repackaging boxes, stacking product on pallets, etc. in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintains a safe and clean work area.
Readily accepts, and adapts quickly, to any task/production line reassignment and works closely and cooperates with any reassigned team leader and team members to accomplish production requirements.
Cooperates and communicates well with co-workers and strives at all times to promote teamwork, build team spirit and heighten morale.
Demonstrates a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees.
Participates actively in any training program that is made available by the company.
Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned.
Performs work duties and responsibilities in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices. (i.e.: wears hairnet/beardnet, and clean clothes at all times, washes hands when returning to work area, does not wear jewelry, does not have objects in mouth (gum, candy, tobacco) while working, does not bring food into plant except in break room, etc.)
Completes paperwork and documentation in an accurate, neat and timely manner. (ie: production tickets, downtime reports, etc.)
Is knowledgeable of all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures and complies with them at all times. Follows all departmental Standard Operating Procedures and reviews them regularly.
Performs other duties and assumes additional responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED are preferred
Preferred Experience: Experience using Forklifts, Pallet Jacks or other equipment to move product
Experience in a Manufacturing environment beneficial (inventory management and warehouse management system (SAP))
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Ability to work effectively with others.
Ability to carry out routine and repetitive tasks.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
Additional Information
The starting rate for this role is $16.96 - $23.32(Hourly). Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link’s Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a plant/office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet/slippery floors. However, the vast amount of work is conducted in a climate-controlled office. Travel may be required.
