Job Description
As a Senior Associate within the Construction Advisory practice, you will play a key role in delivering complex claims and dispute engagements across the EMEA and APAC regions. Working alongside senior consultants, expert witnesses, and clients, you will undertake detailed forensic analyses, develop robust claim positions, and support the resolution of high-value construction disputes.
This role is suited to a commercially minded professional who can transform complex project data into clear, defensible analyses and compelling narratives. You will contribute both technically and strategically to client engagements, supporting dispute resolution processes while helping to develop junior team members and maintain the highest standards of client service.
Job Responsibilities
Claims Analysis & Development
- Prepare, assess, and substantiate Extension of Time (EOT), delay, disruption, and productivity claims.
- Perform forensic schedule analyses to identify critical path impacts, concurrency, and causation.
- Evaluate contractual entitlement and support the development of defensible claim positions.
- Assist in the quantification of prolongation costs, disruption damages, and associated losses.
- Develop clear and persuasive claims narratives supported by factual and analytical evidence.
Programme & Data Analysis
- Review project programmes, schedule updates, progress records, and project controls data to identify delay drivers and project risks.
- Develop analytical models and maintain structured, auditable datasets to support claims and dispute engagements.
- Analyse project documentation, including contracts, correspondence, change records, meeting minutes, and site records.
- Translate complex project information into concise findings suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Contractual & Dispute Support
- Review and interpret contractual provisions, including FIDIC and other standard forms of contract, to establish entitlement positions.
- Draft claims submissions, rebuttals, position papers, and sections of expert reports.
- Support formal dispute resolution processes, including adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and litigation.
- Assist senior consultants and expert witnesses in the preparation of evidence and hearing materials.
Team Leadership & Quality Assurance
- Provide guidance and technical support to Associates and junior team members.
- Review analyses and deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Contribute to the development of methodologies, tools, and best practices within the Construction Advisory practice.
- Support business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and thought leadership activities as required.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- 4-6 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Construction claims and dispute resolution
- Planning and scheduling
- Contract and commercial management
- Working knowledge of FIDIC or similar contract frameworks.
- Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of forensic delay analysis techniques and methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly and concisely.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Preferred
- Experience working on international construction projects across EMEA and/or APAC.
- Exposure to the Middle East construction sector.
- Experience within a contractor, consultant, or construction advisory environment.
- Experience supporting formal dispute resolution proceedings, including arbitration and litigation.
- Progress toward or attainment of professional certifications such as:
- MRICS
- PMP
- Other relevant industry credentials
