Job Description
We are seeking an Associate to join the Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) in Mumbai. This role supports senior team members across a broad range of strategic, financial, and operational advisory engagements, including distressed asset consulting, restructuring support, financial analysis, and client deliverables.
The Associate will work across multiple concurrent projects, supporting both billable client engagements and internal operational initiatives, while maintaining high standards for accuracy, communication, and execution.
Job Responsibilities
Client & Billable Work
Billable activity will primarily relate to financial, accounting, and strategic analysis in support of advisory engagements across a wide range of projects and industries, including but not limited to:
- Financial analysis, modeling, and data validation
- Support for distressed asset reviews, restructuring analyses, and performance improvement initiatives
- Data integrity checks, reconciliations, and validation of client‑provided information
- Formatting, formula validation, and quality assurance of Excel‑based financial workbooks
- Preparation of pitch decks, executive summaries, and client‑ready presentations
- Supporting transaction‑related analyses and other strategic advisory deliverables
- Assisting with ad‑hoc analyses to support senior leadership, clients, and engagement teams
Non‑Billable & Operational Support
- Non‑billable work is expected to represent approximately 25% (+/‑) of total hours worked.
- Non‑billable activities may include administrative and operational support tasks such as, but not limited to:
- Expense entry, reconciliation, and verification
- CRM updates and maintenance
- Power BI reporting and dashboard updates
- KPI tracker updates and internal performance reporting
- General operational and practice support activities as required.
Professional & Performance Expectations
- High attention to detail with a commitment to no‑error, client‑facing deliverables
- Comfortable working under strict deadlines in fast‑paced, high‑accountability environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clear, proactive communication
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining quality and responsiveness
- Willingness to take ownership of work products and contribute positively to team outcomes
Tools, Technology & Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Power BI
- Familiarity with Copilot (AI) and an ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Ability to work with large datasets and complex financial models while maintaining data integrity
Qualifications
This role requires high proficiency in English (verbal and written) due to regular interaction with global stakeholders. It also requires an excellent Wi‑Fi connection with stable internet.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a similar professional field.
- 4–6 years of analytical, administrative, and/or support experience in finance, accounting, business, legal, or other similar professional services.
- Experience with ERP technology, preferably Microsoft D365.
- Experience with CRM, databases and other multi-linked record SaaS systems such as Salesforce, Accelo, Zoho.
- Experience with Task Management software such as Accelo, Monday.
- Strong technology, organizational, critical‑thinking, and negotiation skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Must be detail‑oriented and capable of working independently as well as part of multiple teams.
- Ability to think clearly and rationally, understanding the logical connection between ideas.
- Skilled in analyzing and solving problems by deducing consequences from known information.
- Must be self‑driven with a strong work ethic and able to work independently.
- Must take ownership of tasks (large or small), deliver on time, and communicate proactively when issues arise.
- Must embrace training and follow departmental processes and guidelines.
- Schedule must be aligned at least 50% with U.S. business hours, typically 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM IST.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIRA, CPA, CFE, CTP, CFA, or similar professional designation.
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- Must be comfortable working in a remote and/or hybrid environment
- Must be flexible to travel
