Job Description

Responsible for the strategic support, oversight and tactical operations of digital fundraising systems for JDRF One Walk, Gala, Ride, and other core Fundraising Programs. 

This role will work cross-functionally with Fundraising Program leads, Data + Technology, Marcom, and external vendors to translate fundraising strategy into digital fundraising tactics through a variety of online tools.  The Director will identify, prioritize and lead the projects required to drive donor acquisition, retention and upgrade through digital fundraising products.  

This leader serves the evolving and growing needs of a complex, Development Operations department. They are responsible for providing overall leadership in the systems and technology that support JDRF’s Fundraising Programs.

•    Develops and oversees the execution of a Digital Engagement Strategy for P2P event participants in Walk, Endurance, Ride, Team JDRF, and DIY.  Supports and executes JDRF fundraising strategy through online fundraising tools.
•    Manages direct report to deliver high-level customer support to staff and fundraisers.
•    Communicates product roadmap to keep JDRF internal stakeholders informed of enhancements, priority projects, and release plans for fundraising systems. 
•    Defines tactics to transform fundraising strategy to measurable tactics for implementation through our P2P digital fundraising tools.
•    Defines content development needs, resources and timelines with appropriate Marcom and Fundraising Program staff, including copy and images.
•    Reviews and approves all final testing of digital fundraising sites and digital communications/auto-responders.
•    Serves as liaison for field staff to escalate new ideas for participant and donor engagement, or unique messaging needs, on fundraising platforms.
•    Builds out automation in digital fundraising system reporting and other areas to increase efficiency. 
•    Manages new product initiatives from concept to launch.
•    Actively engages in the industry to keep abreast of trends, case studies, and other learning opportunities that would benefit JDRF P2P fundraising programs.
•    Completes special projects as assigned and partners with national departments when applicable  
 

Qualifications

•    7 years’ fundraising and event experience including with matrixed organization(s) in the disease space, preferably with a chapter-based, event heavy history. 3 years in a supervisory capacity preferred.
•    Experience and knowledge of both special event and non-event fundraising activities (major gifts, stewardship, etc.).
•    Proficiency with fundraising systems – Luminate Online, Greater Giving preferred – as well as Salesforce CRM
•    Ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team; lead by example as a player-coach
•    Successful project management experience.
•    Self-starter while also being collaborative and an amazing team player!
•    Highly effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work closely with teams and across functional areas; proactively communicate
•    Effectively establish priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure. 
•    Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. 
•    Demonstrated competency when handling diversified assignments. 
•    Team player with the ability to interface with all levels of staff, volunteers and vendors.
•    Superior active listening, observation, analytical, and problem recognition and solving skills.
•    Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative. 
•    Significant computer literacy (MS Office) . 
•    College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
•    Ability to travel occasionally. Occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
