Job Description
As the Payroll Officer within JB Hi-Fi Group, you will play a key role in the efficient and accurate processing of payroll on a weekly and/or fortnightly basis for allocated business units. You will ensure JB Hi-Fi’s Payroll remains complaint with legislative requirements, company policies, and industry standards; as well as maintaining accurate employee records, resolving payroll-related queries, and supporting the organisation’s commitment to operational excellence through precise and timely payroll execution.
Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Processing payroll for employees in compliance with relevant Awards, individual employment contracts, and legislative requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Administering employee and employer deductions, contributions, and benefits, including company and industry superannuation.
Maintaining and updating employee records and payroll components consistently and accurately, following established procedures.
Responding to payroll-related queries and requests, providing clear and professional communication to resolve issues efficiently via Zendesk.
Collaborating with the Payroll Lead to address escalations and support service delivery through tools such as the Zendesk payroll portal.
Assisting with preparing payroll-related data for forecasting, analytics, and reporting to meet business requirements.
Building positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders by supporting accurate and responsive payroll processes.
Contributing to key projects and process improvement initiatives under the direction of the Payroll Lead or Group Payroll Manager.
Maintaining accountability for task completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines and organisational standards.
Supporting the Payroll Lead in monitoring payroll accuracy and addressing discrepancies to maintain compliance and integrity.
Qualifications
This role is perfect for a payroll professional looking to grow their experience in a high volume fast paced environment, who enjoys the challenge of running payroll across multiple sites, Modern Awards and EBAs.
You will also have:
2 + years’ experience in payroll processing within a high-volume or multi-site environment, essential.
Experience with the Modern Award GRIA, essential.
Experience with the Clerks, Storage & Services and Business Equipment Awards and EBAs, highly regarded.
Proficiency in payroll systems, essential.
Experience with ADP Payforce, PayGlobal Time2Work, desired.
Professional Experience with Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, data analysis and reporting capabilities, essential.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining employee records and processing payroll transactions, essential.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to address payroll-related queries professionally and clearly, essential.
Experience working in high volume fast paced payroll environments, highly regarded.
