Job Description
The Marketing Category Manager Romania/Bulgaria manages the relevant category(ies) on geographical level: for Romania and Bulgaria. The role is responsible for driving category growth, brand performance and consumer engagement across RO and BG markets focusing on comprehensive portfolio deployment, range management, media planning, campaign translation and execution, artwork translation, local & global brands management and compiling and sharing key market insights. Responsibilities will be compliant with the Marketing Governance Model.
Marketing Category Manager RO/BG is responsible for RO/BG results for relevant category and leads an international marketing team.
- Co-creates with the global category & brands teams category strategy and executes it for the Romanian and Bulgarian market
- Takes responsibility and shapes category P&L with special focus on Total Gross Profit level
- Cooperates with global teams (category, brand)
- Monitors market, competitors and JDE performance and adjusts plans & activities accordingly
- Leads international team of professionals responsible for the given category
- Adapt regional or global marketing initiatives to local market dynamics and consumer needs.
- Coordinates all activities within the scope of local launches of New Product Development or Product Adaptations across RO/BG markets
- Oversees local range management across RO/BG markets to ensure consistent product availability
- Manages external communication activities (including social media) and maintains relationship with local media all in line with the communication and media strategy of the brands in scope
- Translates the category strategy guidelines into local marketing campaigns by managing local execution of advertisement and promotion activities
- Is responsible for compiling local knowledge and key market insight and sharing this information with the central marketing organization for potential innovations and trends
- Support pricing, positioning and promotional strategies to maximize category performance
- Partners with Shopper Marketing, Sales / Key Account teams to ensure strong alignment between marketing initiatives and commercial priorities
- Development and control of marketing budget, including media campaigns, promotions and other advertisements
Qualifications
Must have:
- 5 years marketing experience at FMCG company
- 2 years of team management experience
- Experience in managing cross-functional or regional teams/projects
- Ability to lead intercultural & remote team
- Managed a category / brands at an FMCG company
- Strong understanding of category management, brand strategy and consumer marketing
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
- University or college degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field
- Fluent English
- End-user computer skills
- Knowledge of related laws and legal regulations
