Job Description

The internship starts on September 4th 2023, and is for a period of 5-6 months. 

To start with, the position of Global Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Intern sits comfortably in the Global Business & Operations FP&A Team at the international HQ. An incredible diverse team that helps each other learn, grow and develop. Just how we like it! And as a Global FP&A Global FP&A Intern you will collaborate to drive financial performance of the company by making recommendations to optimize (financial) business performance. This includes providing support throughout the company as regarding the performance analysis, annual operating plan (budget) development, forecasting and capital analysis. For this, we don’t just need you to be a knowledgeable professional but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. Know that you’ll have a crucial role in creating and protecting the impact we look for in our value chain. With this said we like you to take responsibility over the following tasks:

  • Contribute to the planning and development of the annual operating plan budget
  • Execute KPI analysis including revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures
  • Contribute to preparation of key management team meetings (Executive Committee, etc.)
  • Execute the development of financial models to analyze various business opportunities and cost savings initiatives
  • Execute periodic financial analysis (backward and forward looking).

 

Qualifications

Given the nature of the role we feel it’s important for you to have a willingness to learn as well as a solid understanding of your own added value. We thrive in diverse teams and look for people that appreciate that as much as we do. We can give you a list of “must haves”, however that’s not how we view your candidacy. We do, of course, take into consideration your driven, result oriented and make-it-happen mindset as well as your English fluency but ultimately we look at the bigger picture. But to give you a bit of guidance as to what we feel is needed in this role, we’ll share our “nice to have” list with you:

  • Bachelor in Business, Economics, Finance (or equivalent) and pursuing a relevant MSc program
  • Enthusiastic and pro-active
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment whilst maintaining high attention for detail
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

Important: To be considered as a candidate for this internship, 

  • EU/EEA students: you need to be enrolled at a University for the whole duration of the internship and this needs to be a mandatory part of your study curriculum.
  • Non-EU/EEA students: you need to be enrolled at a Dutch University and your university needs to sign the Nuffic Agreement. The internship needs to be a compulsory part of your studies (eg, receive ECTS in turn).

Internship Allowance 

  • Based on a fulltime 40 hour workweek, the monthly internship allowance is € 450,- for a HBO student or € 500,- for a WO student, additionally, you will get paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.  
  • Monthly Commuting allowance
  • In principle, you will be using your student public transportation card (student OV-chipcard /studentenreisproduct) for daily commuting.  
  • If you are not eligible for the student OV-chipcard, JDE offers a commuting allowance. Compensation for commuting expenses, starting from a minimum distance of 5 kilometers one way, up to a maximum of: 
  • 35 kilometers à € 19ct per km (according to the temporary arrangement) when travelling by own transportation;  
  • 45 kilometers (max. € 294.50 based on public transport fees) per month for travel by public transportation. 
  • Should you relocate to the city of your based office (Amsterdam or Utrecht), you will receive a monthly relocation compensation of up to a maximum of € 175. In this case, the commuting allowance will be not applicable. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
