Job Description
As our new Scientific and Regulatory Affairs (SARA) specialist you will work within a team of specialists on scientific and regulatory topics related to coffee and tea products. You will ensure that all products are compliant with the applicable regulatory requirements and company guidelines and policies.
The SARA team is spread across the globe, with a central base in Europe, supporting local and global project teams and technology platforms in the development of new products and processes. The team is responsible for monitoring and communicating emerging issues and regulatory changes to relevant functions. Team members liaise with external bodies and associations on scientific and regulatory affairs.
Your will, amongst others,
- ensure food legal compliance of materials, processes and products;
- monitor and anticipate upcoming regulatory changes, communicate to relevant stakeholders and support up-to-date company position papers;
- assess scientific and regulatory opportunities to support growth;
- coordinate, develop and approve product declarations, including nutrition profiling and claims;
- maintain and improve the Specification Management System
Qualifications
To be successful in this role,
you will need a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree, in Science, Nutrition, Food Chemistry, Food Technology or Food Science. You will have some years of professional expertise in a scientific and regulatory affairs role in a food-related business. You will have good knowledge of the European and non-European food legislation and considerable understanding of nutrition science. Fluency in English and one other language is required.
Next to this you have excellent communication and networking skills, you’re able to manage and prioritize multiple time-constrained tasks and work independently while remaining a team player.
