Job Description

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) within our plants in Gävle (SE) and Bergen (NO). MOS is the Standard Continuous Improvement program of JDE Manufacturing. It is a program based in TPM, combining pragmatically also Lean and 6Sigma capabilities.

This program drives the key results of our plants, such as Cost savings, Efficiency improvement, No safety Accidents, No Quality Incidents, Service, Inventory and Engagement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develops MOS implementation plan with clear focus on zero defects, zero losses and total involvement culture (consistent with standard JDE MOS roadmap)

  • Puts in place in the plant the standard MOS Pillar structure (TPM Pillar structure), enabler of the MOS Continuous Improvement program.

  • Local Fundamentals Pillar leader, including OPS (Daily performance meetings structure), Basic problem solving tools (Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, SMED) and 5S.

  • Works effectively with the rest of the Management Team of the plant.

  • Supports the plant manager in the Strategy Deployment: agrees & puts in place standard and simple Performance Indicators to measure consistency/compliance Pillars progress and business contribution per pillar.

  • Actively monitors and follows-up on the Key Performance Indicators of his area.

  • Identifies and manages efficiency issues that arise in the plants and develop plans / programs for improvement. When required, support perform deep-dive analysis on efficiency issues.  

  • Manage cost reduction or efficiency improvement initiatives associated with the manufacturing process.

  • Works closely with other Global Pillar leaders to ensure flawless Manufacturing Operating System development and implementation.

Qualifications

  • Academic education with Master Degree in Engineering (or related field)

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing management in Food, Pharma or Process Industry business environment;

  • Profound knowledge of TPM (mainly) and Lean and 6 Sigma methodologies. Proven track record of leading successful implementations at plant level;

  • Experience of working in an International and multi-cultural environment; in a matrix organization with several key stakeholders

  • Possesses strong leadership and influencing skills; with energizing and inspiring personality with flexible problem solution skills.
