Job Description
Job Summary: Manage and coordinate the engineering activities for production, development, planning, legal compliance, safety and environmental requirements for Cumberland Mine underground operations.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop cost effective, safe, and efficient mine plans for development of budget models.
- Monitor on-going production and construction activities as they relate to the mine plan.
- Coordinate activities between the various departments to ensure accomplishment of the plan.
- Ensure the timely, accurate development and filing of required mining permits and approvals.
- Ensure the design and development of the mine plan for the safe, efficient ventilation of Cumberland Mine including the surface and underground facilities and controls required.
- Ensure the coordination and management of contractors’ activities including all predetermined, safety, quality and performance standards.
- Monitor, evaluate and develop direct reports.
- Provide engineering and technical support to the various surface and underground groups
- Develop and manage the engineering budget.
- Ensure environmental compliance through planning, monitoring, and construction.
Qualifications
Proficiency in the accounting principles required for budgeting, planning and controlling capital acquisitions and cost control. Competent in Microsoft Office, IFS, and AutoCAD and an understanding of Ventilation modeling and Mine Planning computer applications.
Position Prerequisites (Certification, Degrees, etc.):
BS Mining Engineering
Preferred -- Professional Engineer
Preferred -- Pennsylvania Assistant Mine Foreman Certification
