Job Description

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the procurement function within Global Health Services (GHS).  The procurement function is developing and maturing as the Global Health Services business continues to grow and the incumbent will be required to demonstrate the ability to lead continuous improvement, proactively.

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities from sourcing to purchase, for all Global Health Services goods and services.  They are to seek to continuously improve our through life good distribution practice (GDP), stock management, asset management and disposals and will be responsible for developing efficient strategies and policies to achieve financial and operational targets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement procurement and supply chain policies to improve delivery quality, timelines and cost management;
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with project teams in country and operations management to continually improve existing systems;
  • Improve procurement services for internal and external customers in quality, cost and timelines.
  • Monitor spend and inventory management weekly and monthly;
  • Review existing supplier contracts and issue & manage tenders;
  • Manage all service contracts (issue, renew, close, retender) and oversee supplier performance;
  • Manage the procurement team;
  • Work closely with Finance Team to manage purchasing/ERP system;
  • Work closely with Finance and Operations to oversee asset management (new equipment, refurbishments, repairs, calibrations etc);
  • Maximise the use of LE West and work closely with them to improve joint procurement;
  • Be a ‘culture carrier’ for Iqarus, through effective leadership, demonstrating role-model behaviours. This includes creating a culture of excellent communications to management and to team members, empowering team members to become thought leaders and encouraging cross collaboration amongst the GHS teams to achieve the GHS business strategy.

Qualifications

  • 5 + years’ experience in international procurement within the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare sector essential
  • Good Distribution Practice experience with relation to medical procurement
  • Sound product knowledge within Medical Supplies
  • CIPP, CIPSC, IACCM certified would be an advantage
  • Process design & implementation skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Team leader - Able to motivate, inspire and persuade others to cooperate and to create the right working climate.
