Job Description

Primary Function of Position
The Sr Manager, Immersive Content, is responsible for leading a product
development team creating immersive training applications for surgical
robotic systems. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with
team management, guiding the development of interactive experiences
across a variety of delivery platforms to increase access to best in class
training for customers around the world.


Success in this role will be measured by the team's ability to consistently
deliver reliable training applications on schedule, user adoption and
training effectiveness metrics, and the development of a cohesive, high-
performing technical team.


The ideal candidate has experience delivering products for end users, skill
for integrating disparate inputs into a technical plan, ease working with
business stakeholders, passion for architecting and coding complex
technical solutions, and experience implementing cutting edge tools for
immersive content development.


Essential Job Duties

  • Lead the architecture and hands-on development of Unity-based immersive training applications, ensuring scalable solutions that are thoughtful, reliable, and accessible across platforms
  • Write clear, maintainable code and help shape technical standards that support team success
  • Mentor and guide the software development team, fostering a collaborative culture where ideas are valued and continuous improvement is encouraged
  • Explore opportunities to use AI in ways that enhance development workflows and elevate user experience
  • Guide project planning, sprint execution, and milestone delivery in a steady, organized, and predictable way
  • Communicate technical updates, design decisions, and recommendations in a clear and inclusive manner to stakeholders
  • Stay current with XR, AI, and Unity developments, especially those that strengthen quality and usability across devices

Qualifications

Core Competencies and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of Unity development, including hands-on XR work
  • 3+ years guiding teams or leading technical initiatives, with a focus on collaboration and shared success
  • Ability to design and build scalable, reliable systems that support high-quality user experiences
  • Strength in creating an environment where teams consistently deliver meaningful, well-crafted products
  • Clear and empathetic communication skills, with comfort engaging partners across technical and clinical domains
  • Proficiency with C#, Unity’s XR toolkit, performance optimization, and modern development practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Meta Quest development, optimization, and deployment processes
  • Experience with Azure cloud services, agile methodologies, or DevOps practices
  • Additional strengths such as Unreal Engine development, web platform development, or experience in healthcare, robotics, or simulation.
  • Experience building multiplayer or collaborative XR applications

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
