Job Description

Primary Function of Position

Develop, lead, and implement marketing plan, key programs, and support to drive procedure adoption of da Vinci® Surgery amongst targeted specialties such as Colorectal, HBP and Stomach, mainly General Surgery.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the strategy in increasing da Vinci® surgery adoption in given surgical specialties.
  • Lead the execution of the strategy with sales departments and enabling functions.
  • KPI set up and management for the effective monitoring of the strategy execution.
  • Develop dV surgeon champions, Key Opinion Leaders (KOL), and specialty society leaders the capabilities to present, teach, and articulate the surgeon and patient value of dV procedures
  • Support and collaborate with sales team on their commercial peer to peer events, KOL/Society speaking engagements, and dV case observation proctors/teachers
  • Develop and implement Intuitive’s presence at key specialty conferences, including robotics symposia, post graduate (PG) courses, live surgical broadcasts, booth presence, and promotion.
  • Work with Training department to identify and support the development of new training programs to meet our procedure adoption goals. Work with key surgeon champions to develop and implement leading da Vinci® surgery education programs and symposia to drive competency and utilization of da Vinci® Surgery.
  • Develop and implement live surgical broadcasts and webinars to educate and promote da Vinci® Surgery for target specialty procedures.  Work with webcast company and marketing communications to promote clinical education event amongst target surgeons and patient audiences.
  • Work closely with specialty surgeons and product development to define marketing and product requirements for new products needed to further enable key procedures and drive procedure adoption.
  • Develop strategy, content, and support for surgeon/hospital marketing programs designed to drive patients to da Vinci® surgeons’ practices (e.g., patient education and referring physician seminars).
  • Work closely with e-marketing and marketing communication groups to optimize specialty content on and marketing of davincisurgery.com (Intuitive’s patient-facing website) and on davincisurgeon.com (Intuitive’s online surgeon community).
  • Work closely with clinical affairs to develop and implement strategy that will support specialty procedure adoption goals.
  • Lead field communications to launch new procedures and promote key marketing programs to maximize impact on targeted procedure growth.
  • Train new sales hires on marketing strategy, surgeon targeting, procedure positioning, sales support, and key marketing programs to drive their procedure business.
  • Develop and update sales support for assigned procedures and marketing programs.  Launch new products, marketing programs and sales support at Intuitive sales meetings.

Qualifications

Core Competencies, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • At least +10 years of Sales and marketing experiences in the medical device industry
  • Understanding the surgery related business dynamics is highly preferred.
  • Understanding Operating room environment is highly preferred
  • Understanding health-care system is highly preferred
  • Experienced in developing a strategy and tactics following with executions and monitoring
  • Understanding the basic concept of business planning – Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning and Strategy&execution
  • Experienced in project leads
  • Relevant leadership capabilities – strategic thinking, result driven, action oriented, learning agility, awareness, problem solving and collaboration
  • Passion and positiveness
  • Good story teller
  • Verbal and written English skill

Education and Training Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required (Majored in Marketing, Bio-Medical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field)
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
