Job Description

Opportunity:

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. is the innovator of the da Vinci™ Surgical Systems and we are the leader within the robotic-assisted minimal invasive surgery industry.  We are looking for a strong Sr. Revenue Analyst candidate to join a fun and professional group of individuals.  The Sr. Revenue Analyst is a highly visible role within the finance team.  The Sr. Revenue Analyst plays a critical role in analyzing and assessing the accounting and financial reporting implications related to sale contracts entered into with our customers.

The Sr. Revenue Analyst is responsible, together with the overall revenue team, for ensuring the entire contract lifecycle from drafting our contracts to shipping our products and billing is executed effectively, along with making sure that the revenue close process is completed timely and all significant revenue recognition matters have been identified.

This role offers a great opportunity to learn and develop strong revenue recognition skills while working closely with the worldwide revenue team, along with and other internal operational groups such as our global Contracts team, Customer Finance, Accounts Receivable Departments, Logistics, FP&A, and our sales organization. This will allow you to develop a broad and deep understanding of the Company’s business and operations essential for strong career development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP
  • Work with cross-functional business partners to facilitate the review and execution of revenue related deals which includes deal structuring and identifying provisions that may have an impact on our revenue recognition
  • Ensure timely execution of month-end and quarter-end close activities (including, but not limited to: account reconciliation, analysis, and reporting)
  • Responsible for preparing selling price analysis of the various deliverables in our multiple element arrangements
  • Perform ad hoc accounting research to assess accounting impact related to sale and lease transactions
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable finance policies, rules, regulations, and laws
  • Perform relevant controls in the Company’s revenue recognition process to ensure that we have adequate controls in place to mitigate all significant reporting risks.
  • Prepare audit schedules, provide analysis, and work with external auditors as needed
  • Assist with projects as needed together with FP&A, IT, and other parts of the organization
  • Work on ad hoc projects that range from process improvement, automation, and data analysis to present to executive management

 

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 4 experience is desirable
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant work experience desired, however, we are open to candidates with a varied range of experience
  • Strong foundation over ASC 606, including track record of performing independent revenue accounting research
  • Experience with ASC 842 lessor accounting is a plus, but not required
  • Certified Public Accountant desirable
  • Experience with enterprise accounting systems, such as SAP is a plus but not required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of departments, follow-through on commitments, and manage progress of projects effectively is critical to be effective in this role
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Seek to continuously improve current processes and procedures
  • Ability to work productively in a dynamic environment and be a solutions-oriented team player

 

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits and equity, and the anticipated pay rate for this position is $100,000 to $143,800. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including location, skills, and experience level.
