Job Description

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for supporting the development of pricing strategies for U.S. Government contract proposals. This role assists in building cost models and ensuring pricing proposals are competitive, accurate, and compliant with federal regulations and company policies. The Pricing Analyst analyzes staffing requirements, compensation data, and cost inputs to support proposal development, conducts profitability analysis, and provides insights to support decision-making.

The Pricing Analyst role offers an opportunity to contribute to successful proposals and pricing initiatives in a government contracting environment. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams while ensuring compliance with federal contracting standards.

  • Support pricing approaches for proposals across various Government contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, IDIQ) to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  • Indpendently builds and maintains detailed cost models and pricing templates aligned with contract requirements and scope of work.
  • Analyze staffing requirements and compensation expectations based on locality and contract-specific constraints.
  • Assist in performing cost and profitability analysis for bids and ongoing contracts, providing insights to support pricing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with Government regulations (e.g., FAR and DFARS) and internal company policies throughout the pricing process.
  • Research and analyze market trends, labor rates, and industry data to support pricing assumptions and recommendations.
  • Compose compliant price narratives for proposal submission.
  • Collaborate with proposal teams, finance, and operations to gather inputs and ensure accurate and timely submission of pricing deliverables.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:

  • Experience in pricing, financial analysis, or proposal support within the Government contracting space.
  • Familiarity with Government contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, IDIQ).
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including proficiency in Excel or similar tools.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work with large data sets and ensure accuracy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to support cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of cost structures and profitability drivers in government contracts.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, problem solver, who can work independently

 

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
  • 3–6 years of experience in Government contracting or pricing/financial analysis.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
