International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced
Mental Health Aide that will provide essential support to clients by offering guidance, resources, and assistance under the supervision of licensed professionals. They will utilize their empathetic nature, strong communication skills, and commitment to well-being to help clients navigate their mental health journeys, ensuring they receive the necessary care and support to improve their mental health and overall quality of life.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivering essential day-to-day care and support services within the Domiciliary on a 24/7 basis to ensure continuous, around-the-clock supervision.
  • Listening to patients' concerns, observing behaviors, and rounding.
  • Report any changes in health or behavior promptly to medical and clinical staff.
  • Leading therapeutic and recreational activities, assisting with patient intake and discharge processes, and closely monitoring patients’ behavior and whereabouts to maintain a safe environment.
  • Escort patients throughout the facility and ensuring structure, supervision, and therapeutic engagement throughout the recovery process.
  • Assist with the admission procedures including searching for contraband, recording valuables and orientation to the facility.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities and personal care.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients.
  • Monitor and document clients’ behavior and progress.
  • Report significant changes in patient status to assure safety and continuity of care.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of care plans.
  • Facilitate group activities and therapeutic sessions.
  • Support clients in managing their own mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with licensed professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Respond to crises and provide immediate support as needed.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health resources and coping strategies.
  • Maintain a save and supportive environment for clients.
  • Provide a safe and clean environment as prescribed by standards relating to fire safety and infection control.
  • Maintaining a positive customer service-oriented attitude by demonstrating a professional and courteous demeaner in all interactions and through professional appearance.
  • Maintaining safe body mechanics while participating in physically demanding and unpredictable and potentially hazardous patient care.
  • Exhibiting a willingness to perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth unit operations.
  • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications


Basic Requirements/Certifications:

  • Must possess one year experience in direct patient care performing therapeutic and supportive tasks in assisting Physicians and other personnel in a rehabilitation treatment program setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Education Required:

  • Two (2) years of study in an accredited college or university, junior college, or similar institution, which included or was supplemented by at least 12 semester hours in such courses as health sciences, nursing, behavioral science, social science, guidance, counseling, teaching, biological sciences or related fields.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
