Job Description

This position is contingent upon award of contract.

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below: 

International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Radiology Registered Nurse to provide patient care before, during, and after imaging procedures.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating and documenting patients' medical histories, current health conditions, and any relevant allergies, ensuring that they are prepared for imaging procedures. 
  • Assisting radiologists and technologists during imaging exams such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds, ensuring a safe and efficient workflow. 
  • Educating patients about the imaging process, addressing any concerns they may have, and explaining pre-procedural preparations and post-procedural care. 
  • Administering contrast agents and medications as prescribed, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions, and providing necessary interventions when required. 
  • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols, particularly involving radiation protection for patients and staff. 
  • Continuously monitoring patients' vital signs and overall well-being throughout the imaging procedure to identify and respond to any complications or emergencies. 
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care and follow-up for patients, ensuring continuity of care post-imaging. 
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation regarding patient care, procedures performed, and any nursing interventions used. 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:  

  • Two (2) years current experience as a Radiology nurse or equivalent specialty.  
  • Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia.  
  • National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to obtain a nursing license.  
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

Education Required: 

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or  
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. 
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. 
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs. 

Other Special Qualifications: 

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. 
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. 
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance. 

Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. 

Compensation|  Min: $39hr        Max: $49hr
