Job Description

This position will support Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) Government Solutions in their joint department of defense program in Alice Springs, Australia.  The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:

International SOS is looking for an individual who is experienced as General Practitioner committed to providing high-quality healthcare and improving the well-being of patients across a diverse population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides medical services comparable to such services and coverage as provided by the USG Facility Medical Officer (FMO) during clinic hours of operation and "after hours" coverage, as necessary.
  • Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
  • Prescribe medication in accordance with state statute and professional practice guidelines.
  • Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with established Health Information Management policies and procedures.
  • Assures continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services on a timely basis.
  • Provides excellent internal/external customer service to assist patients with their health care needs.
  • Arrange referrals for patients requiring services not offered on-site.
  • Review incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) sign, date and follow-up in a timely manner.
  • Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
  • Assist in outside medical public relations functions.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to the latest medical advancements.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Expertise in clinical practice and a collaborative spirit to a team that values patient-centered care.
  • Strong communication skills and empathetic demeanor.

Required Work Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of five years of experience as a general practice physician.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess a license to practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPR).

Physical Demands 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications

  • Must be an US, UK or Australian citizen.
  • Must be able to relocate to Alice Springs, Australia for the duration of the contract.
  • A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Australia.

Compensation| Min: 200,000   Max: 250,000

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
