Housekeeping Leader, IKEA Älmhult AB

  • Full-time

Company Description

Älmhult is where IKEA began in 1943 and remains a place where people from around the world come together to work, live and experience IKEA.

At IKEA Älmhult AB, around 270 co-workers run and develop IKEA Museum, IKEA Hotell, Bölsö, restaurants, cultural experiences, workplaces and outdoor areas that welcome and support co-workers, guests and the local community. And there’s more to come. At the beginning of 2027, we’re opening a new kind of museum for furniture design, and in 2028, our new IKEA Hotell will open its doors.

With our roots in Småland and our eyes on the future, we continue to develop our businesses, experiences and places – making Älmhult an even better place for the next generation.

And this is where you come in.

Job Description

Every guest notices a clean room. Fewer notice the planning, collaboration and attention to detail behind it. Yet these are essential to creating a welcoming hotel experience and making every guest feel at home.

We are looking for a Housekeeping Leader who enjoys developing operations, building strong relationships and ensuring high standards of quality and service.

At our destination housekeeping services are primarily delivered by an external partner, with support from our own hotel team when needed. In this role, you will coordinate and follow up on housekeeping operations, working closely with our external partner, reception and other hotel colleagues to ensure consistent quality, efficient daily operations and a great guest experience.

As we prepare for the opening of our new IKEA Hotell in 2028, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of future housekeeping routines, quality standards and ways of working.

Your work will directly influence how guests experience IKEA Älmhult from the moment they arrive until they leave and your success will be reflected in consistently high standards, efficient daily operations, strong collaboration and guests who feel welcome and well

You will:

  • Lead and follow up housekeeping operations together with our external partner, ensuring consistent quality, service standards and operational performance.
  • Build strong partnerships with external service providers through clear expectations, constructive dialogue and regular follow-up.
  • Develop routines, quality standards and ways of working that support efficient and reliable daily operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Reception and other hotel colleagues to create a seamless guest experience across the entire stay.
  • Identify and implement improvements that strengthen guest satisfaction, operational efficiency and business performance.
  • Contribute to the development of future housekeeping concepts, standards and operations for the new IKEA Hotell planned for 2028.

Qualifications

We are looking for a structured, engaged and down-to-earth leader who enjoys making things work well, both for guests and for the people delivering the service.

You understand the importance of quality, attention to detail and strong collaboration. You are comfortable setting clear expectations, following up on performance and turning challenges into practical improvements.

Experience from housekeeping, hospitality, facility management or other service-focused operations will be valuable. What matters most is your ability to create structure, build strong partnerships and continuously improve quality and performance.

We believe you have:

  • Experience coordinating, leading or developing service operations in a hotel, hospitality or similar environment.
  • Experience driving performance and quality through external service partners, suppliers or outsourced operations.
  • The ability to establish clear routines, follow up on quality and drive operational improvements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a practical and solution-oriented approach.
  • The ability to balance guest experience, quality, efficiency and business needs.
  • Experience driving change and turning improvement ideas into practical results.

This is an opportunity to shape how housekeeping develops over the coming years, including preparations for the new IKEA Hotell planned for 2028. You will play an important role in strengthening quality, collaboration and guest experience while helping prepare for a new generation of hospitality in Älmhult. If you enjoy creating structure, building strong relationships and making a difference through quality and continuous improvement, we would love to hear from you.
