Purpose
Purpose of function of Business Developer
• To drive the affordability perspective of the IKEA business model.
• To be responsible for suppliers/service providers, as well as developing the value chain in alignment with the best-buy principle.
• To ensure that IKEA suppliers/service providers perform according to democratic design principles and deliver sustainable business outcomes.
• To execute IKEA's key strategies and deliver results by working with suppliers/service providers, and internal stakeholders to achieve agreed goals and KPIs.
• To take a holistic approach to business with the aim of optimizing the value chain.
• To act as the link between the range (internal stakeholders) and the capabilities of suppliers, leading and managing the total business with partners to deliver sustainable products and services to customers.
• To ensure compliance with processes and regulations by coordinating with internal and external partners, achieving the lowest possible cost while meeting sustainable business needs.

• To identify and act on business opportunities using a fact-based approach, developing supplier/service provider capabilities, and fostering professional relationships both internally and externally.
Assignment Purpose of job
• To develop and maintain professional business relationships with suppliers/service providers in alignment with IKEA's direction while being an ambassador for IKEA's culture and values.
• To lead the overall business and deployment of sustainability roadmaps for the respective supplier/service provider, and to be accountable for price-related data, as well as overall supplier/service provider performance (including data quality).
• To identify actions through the Supplier Development Process (SDP) and action planning process to execute the Category strategy and to lead business teams in its implementation.
• To purchase not only products and services but also acquire the complete offer package, contributing to the entire value chain.
• To initiate changes and improvements within IKEA's supply chain and at sub-suppliers.
• To develop and manage strategic relationships, negotiate with suppliers/service providers, and communicate with all involved parties while monitoring market developments.
• To participate in group decision-making by providing accurate and in-depth information from suppliers/service providers, and the market, offering data, scenarios, and insights to support decisions.
• To represent IKEA to the supplier/service provider and act as the supplier's or service provider's representative within IKEA, from an operational, tactical, and strategic perspective.
• To adopt an entrepreneurial approach and support IKEA with ideas to improve production, products, and services across the entire value chain.
Qualifications
Knowledge in IKEA landscape
• To understand and follow the IKEA Group Code of Conduct and business ethics.
• To understand and work in alignment with the IKEA strategic landscape.
• To understand the IKEA business model and supply chain to meet end customer expectations.
• To understand the Category Business Plan and apply this knowledge to the Purchasing Development Process (PDP), Supplier/Service Provider Development Process (SDP), and Business Contingency Planning (BCP).
• To understand and follow the IKEA Purchasing Manual and relevant procedures and guidelines.
Business partners & industry
• To continuously learn and build industry specific knowledge, with the capacity to challenge the existing business setup.
• To drive to continuously learn and build regional knowledge, including understanding geopolitical advantages, the economy, supplier landscape, and regional SWOTs.
• To develop short-term and long-term strategies that align with the region's needs and IKEA's sourcing interests, while also connecting this knowledge with the global category strategy.
• To continuously learn and develop basic finance and legal knowledge.

• Overall responsible for sustainable business development with our partners and performance within business team.
• Lower total cost – Total cost development, BD primary responsible to work on value chain & optimize it/create lower cost for IKEA Customer.
• Sustainability development – Securing compliance and development of sustainability agenda (fair, equal and climate agenda) at respective supplier/service provider to deliver Sustainability strategy.
• Accessibility – according to long term need, understand & develop existing capacity or create new capacity with responsible business partners, new supplier/service provider as part of supplier/service provider development roadmap.
