When it comes to visit IKEA in Älmhult, our two main contributors to IKEA in Älmhult as a destination today are IKEA Museum and IKEA Hotell. IKEA Museum shares the story of IKEA and how we make things better through our unique formula, Democratic Design. We build and strengthen the IKEA brand by offering a high-quality experience, by interacting with people in the context of life at home, home furnishing and design as well as inviting people behind the scenes of IKEA, giving a more intimate experience of the brand. IKEA Hotell has for almost 60 years been making guests from near and far feel at home in Älmhult. We are the world’s only IKEA Hotell and we want to make sure our guests find a welcoming and inclusive place where they can meet, eat and sleep in a unique IKEA context.
Job Description
The Destination Sales Leader is responsible for all sales activities and results for the destination IKEA in Älmhult, plans and leads the sales year cycle calendar and pro-actively identifies potential customers and partners and, leads the sales process from the first dialogue to closing the deal. The Sales Destination Leader builds and maintains excellent business relationships and has an eye for business development.
The Sales Destination Leader reports and presents the destination and sales activities with results to stakeholders on a regular basis and leads sales dialogues with seniors and management to support the business plans for IKEA Museum and IKEA Hotell and the overall Work, Live, Visit direction.
The Destination Sales Leader is a key role in strengthening the destination IKEA in Älmhult long-term and leads the development of our offer around the IKEA experience including culture & values, design, meet, stay and eat offers. The Destination Sales Leader is in lead of our collaborations around the destination sales work, both within IKEA and externally, and acts as an ambassador for the IKEA in Älmhult destination, securing we strengthen the IKEA brand by following the IKEA guidelines, our identity and IKEA tone of voice.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have a passion about the IKEA brand, to lead in the unknown and to constantly drive development and improvement. You stay up to date with industry best practices including competitor benchmarking and tomorrow’s destination landscape. You have a curios approach, problem solving attitude, and you love to lead sales processes, reach goals and establish great relationships.

- You share IKEA key values and are a strong ambassador for our IKEA culture
- You are curious and courageous and are driven by a constant urge to improve, develop and make a difference
- You have vast experience and knowledge about sales processes and customer relations
- You have a professional record of closing deals and setting up legal agreements
- You are used to report and present sales activities and numbers to stakeholders
- You have a vast experience from destination and/or hospitality industry
- You have relevant work experience for this positions.
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Additional Information
This position is a full-time assignment (40 hours per week), starting as soon as possible. You will be located in Älmhult, Sweden and report to the Marketing & Communication Manager at IKEA Museum.
