Job Description
The purpose of the job is to secure excellence in logistical operational performance, and its further development, by defining the capacity needs for Supply Chain Operations in close contact with our stakeholders as well as scenario planning. Our goal is to make a well-timed, complete, quality assured flow and capacity planning information and connect it with our stakeholders. We lead and develop the internal capacity process including working methods, tools and competence.
- Logistical ("flow") performance: Develop framework for overall logistical operational performance from end-to-end perspective as it is defined by respective set of KPIs and PIs (e.g. Forecast stability and accuracy) from a planning perspective and is responsible for the definition of needed capacities and requirements for Category Areas and Supply Operations
- Capacity Plan: Monitor, analyse, control and follow up capacity planning with the goal to secure quality and availability for our customers, as well as cost efficiency in strong collaboration with Need Planning function. Provide network and volume forecasts for our end-to-end goods flow over a two year time horizon as the base for financial cost planning (e.g. CALC, Cost Goal) and to secure the right capacity with internal and external stakeholders. Provide operational capacity plan by defining the needed capacity on route and DC level to secure global agreements in accordance with the operational frame
- Preconditions: Create the right pre-conditions for accurate and stable capacity plans by securing necessary system updates (e.g. forecasting tool updates, route maintenance) based on new replenishment solutions or other network changes. Create transparency on volume changes to identify procurement needs and capacity requirements for Supply Chain Operations with the goal to improve efficiency and support cost development on the end-to-end goods flow
- Stakeholder Management: Take lead in the alignment and interaction with all relevant IKEA supply chain stakeholders (e.g. Sales Plan, Supplier Capacity Plans) to secure accurate and reliable capacity plans and provides information to all concerned stakeholders in Supply Chain Operations
- Logistics Performance Measurement: Play a key role in the definition of total logistical operational performance from a planning perspective (e.g. forecast accuracy) and the identification of gaps in the forecasts
- Working Methods: Take lead in the development of internal Working Methods within the Capacity Planning Process in alignment with Supply Chain Development Areas
- Competence Development: Supports creation of education material, as well as contributes to improvement of appropriate IT-Tools. Secures the right level of information in all our sites.
- Support the Flow Capacity Planning Manager in the preparation of meetings
- Global assignments per Flow Capacity Planner (e.g. Category Area Transport, Supply Operations Europe, DC ESE)
Qualifications
Knowledge
- University degree in logistics, economics, business administration or relevant working experience
- Experience in Forecasting and Capacity Planning and proven track record
- Good knowledge of functions within IKEA Supply Chain and how they contribute to the process
- Good Knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Logistics
- Good knowledge about how to build and evaluate fact-based business cases
- Experience in implementation of decided concepts, working methods and tools
- Good knowledge about logistical performance indicators and their main key drivers
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant tools and working methods in the Supply Chain
- Computer skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Fluent in English
