Join IKEA’s logistics and fulfillment focused innovation team as a thesis student to establish the future of logistics for IKEA.

Job Description

As a thesis student, you will be part of a team of 10 people dedicated to innovation in IKEA’s larger, development and innovation-focused own internal consulting organization:
Intralogistics in Supply Chain Development. 

The objective of our organisation is to deliver a more affordable, accessible and sustainable IKEA with innovative, technology-driven and automated intralogistics solutions for any IKEA unit.

We are now looking for a master thesis student to help us create an even stronger approach to sustainability in our work:
-Intralogistics delivers a broad range of logistics and fulfillment products and services to the IKEA world, many of them enabling or even directly supporting a stronger sustainability approach.
-Measuring the exact contribution to our work in sustainability-related measurements is very challenging.
-We would like to create a way to measurement/indication of our activities to the sustainability deliverables of Supply Chain Development and the Three Roads of IKEA. 
-In ideal case have even an automated tool, application to be used across the organization easily.

Project goals
-Investigate sustainability supporting /enabling activity within Intralogistics and Intralogistics Innovation from various angles.
-Create a way to measurement /indication of our activities to the sustainability deliverables of Supply Chain Development and the Three Roads of IKEA. 
-In ideal case have even an automated tool, application to be used across the organization easily.

Qualifications

-    Excellent communication skills (proficiency with MS office toolkit, other communication tools are a strong bonus: e.g. video making/editing)
-    Innovation mindset, entrepreneurial mindset
-    Dare to challenge, ask questions, investigate
-    High interest and excitement about new technologies, especially in the area of logistics
-    Logistics and engineering background can be a bonus, but not necessarily required
-    Capability to work independently, drive own work based on support/instructions
-    If you have the capability to develop “automated tools” (in excel or other program) that is a strong advantage

This is for a 20-week Master's thesis. This project can be done remotely.
