About the job

In Category Food Logistics Services, we source, procure and operate cold chain transportation, warehousing and logistics services for IKEA Food. To support and develop our Sustainability agenda, we are currently looking for a Sustainability Developer to join our team in Pratteln.

In this role you will be responsible to define, develop and support our processes in Food Logistics Services to secure the stability and growth of IKEA from a sustainability perspective on a global scale.

Your assignment as Sustainability Developer includes:

  • Challenge and drive the sustainability agenda in Category Food Logistics Services, as well as contribute to its Safety agenda.
  • Actively engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders to identify, assess potentials and support sustainability projects that will support our agenda.
  • Actively participate in global matrix working groups and contribute to global sustainability development projects and/or cross-category activities.
  • Contribute to IWAY development activities and social agenda topics, by doing risk assessments and gap analysis, analysing trends and providing input and support to mitigate risks, close gaps and enhance sustainability performance.
  • Facilitate trainings for internal and external stakeholders with the aim of increasing the competence in food logistics related sustainability topics.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of regional and local policy development related to sustainability.
  • Evaluate, report and follow up on the sustainability KPIs and PIs.
  • Lead the Yearly Environmental Survey process and propose improvement actions to the business teams.
  • Identify and act upon potential sustainability risks areas, in collaboration with the category areas and Supply Operations.

Qualifications

  • you have been previously involved in working with the sustainability agenda of a global Supply Chain organisation
  • you have excellent project management skills
  • you are self-driven and you feel comfortable taking the initiative and driving our sustainability agenda across units and functions, both inside and outside the company
  • you have a university degree in sustainability or other relevant area and/or experience from working in the field of sustainability in a global Supply Chain organization   
  • you are a good and inspiring communicator and have the capability to build trustful relationships 
  • you understand supply chain cost drivers and know how to influence them
  • you are fluent in English, both written and spoken
