Requirement Engineering is looking for a Product Requirement Specialist (PRS) addressing the electrical regulatory requirement aspects of our smart and integrated products. As a PRS you are responsible to identify and document correct and receiver-oriented product requirements. In other words - creating pre-requisites for a safe and compliant range. Being a PRS is a challenge! Since requirements vary from country to country and change all the time. You will influence relevant new and existing legislations, regulations and standards while you develop a network of stakeholders in external alliances and standardisation organisations. You work closely with our entire product development organisation at IKEA of Sweden. Furthermore you work with requirements related to both new and complex product types as well as with improvements to the current range.

For this position your main area will be to support IKEA Home Smart, on their development journey and to help them to stay informed about international and regional regulations and standards to secure that products are safe and compliant. Information requirements for these products, e.g. in the area of Energy Efficiency, is an area that currently is being highlighted internationally and will need special attention in the near future. To ensure that IKEA products, e.g. our Home Smart rang are developed in a compliant way, you will be responsible to ensure that electrical standards are known and easily understood by the IKEA product development teams.

Qualifications

You have a great interest in, as well as knowledge of the electrical requirement aspects of connected devices. Previously you have been working with different aspects from a standardisation, software development or architectural point of view. You are well versed of the ways that standards are being developed and maintained in different standardisation organisations and by international and local authorities. You have the good ability to analyse and assess complex subjects and identify needed actions, while translating it into simple common language. You know how to make the requirements available to the development organisation, by providing trainings and information in a good way. Based on experience from the electrical domain you are equipped to be a good speaking partner and an authority when it comes to interpretation of the derived product requirements from standards and regulations. With an open mind, you communicate and have an interest in improving ways of working by applying lessons learnt from your daily work and to take a lead in your contacts with stakeholders.

We are looking for you who have:

  • A good understanding of the design, safety, performance and testing aspects of electrical products
  • Experience from standardisation and / or development tasks including product design of electrical or electronical products  
  • Very good skills in English,  both spoken and written
  • Capability and strong interest to build and to maintain a network of both internal and external contacts in the global standardisation community
