Company Description

The Purchasing Development Team within the Purchasing & Logistics Office is responsible to secure the IKEA suppliers’ management. The Supply Planner is the logistic member of the Purchasing Development team; he/she will take the leadership in the purchasing team to ensure supplier has goods ready on time. Supply Planner main responsibilities are:

  • Achieving excellence in running logistics operations in accordance with Category Plan, by interacting with respective stakeholders and complying with working methods
  • Taking the lead in operational capacity planning at supplier level and contributing to tactical capacity planning
  • Developing logistics performance through common Action Plans with Suppliers

Job Description

Your tasks will include:

  • Secure operational capacities by ensuring high quality of capacity data from suppliers.
  • Contribute to tactical capacity planning based on supplier performance on agreed capacity.
  • Work with systems and reports, to proactively detect and act on possible deviations from goal.
  • Prepare suppliers for best replenishment and delivery solutions by continuously maintaining & developing supplier delivery performance and lead-times.
  • Contribute to identifying best logistical offer.
  • Continuously follow-up, analyse and take action to improve supplier delivery performance and ensures goods are shipped in time.
  • Secures correct availability information from supplier to IKEA Retail/receiver in such quality that it can be for the benefit of the customers.
  • Develops and maintains suppliers’ logistic competence towards becoming responsible on their own performance through: working closely with suppliers, running Supplier Development Projects and providing them relevant trainings & working methods.
  • Contribute to supplier development by taking the lead from logistic perspective and connect relevant competence in IKEA and at Supplier to assess supplier logistics capability and running supplier development projects.

Qualifications

Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

  • Proactive approach and positive mind-set.
  • Ability to handle challenging and complex situations and different stakeholders.
  • At least 5 years working experience in complex Supply Chains.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the logistic field (as Supply Planner, Demand Planner, Production Planner, Capacity Planner) working with order management with different stakeholders.
  • Capability to perform complex analysis, and draw conclusions to support the right business decisions and implementation. Fact based approach.
  • Ability to understand supplier capabilities, production flow, capacity planning and available capacities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain cost drivers from raw material to customer and logistic tools such as: different replenishment methods, delivery solutions and working with lead times.
  • Very good knowledge of Excel.
  • Structered way of working and capable to prioritize.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience with VMI (Vendor-Managed Inventory) or VMR (Vendor-Managed Replenishment) is a plus.
