Come see things a little differently with us.

About the role
We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join the Legal Affairs & Corporate Governance team that will provide practical, business oriented legal advice to various stakeholders in Inter IKEA Systems.

The role requires the ability to work cross function within the legal department, supporting colleagues when needed. This may include supporting colleagues with primary responsibility for IP, IT, IKEA product supply and distribution, commercial contracts and corporate law.

With Inter IKEA Systems being the owner of the IKEA Concept and the worldwide IKEA franchisor, a big part of the role will be to provide the business with legal support regarding matters relating to franchising and expansion of the IKEA Concept worldwide.

Also, our company and the Inter IKEA Group as a whole are presently going through a digital transformation and an adaptation to meet up with future demands on a franchisor organization. Therefore, a big part of the role of the Legal Counsel will be to review, draft and negotiate tech related contracts and help our company and business partners navigate through an ever evolving IT and digital landscape.

About you
You are a lawyer with a master degree in law and about 4-6 years of experience in (commercial) contracts matters, with focus on IP/ IT and contractual/commercial matters in private practice and/or in-house at a multinational company. Multichannel retailing (including online) and international retail expansion don’t have any secrets for you and with your eye for detail and organized approach you keep every aspect under control. You are at your best under pressure, know how to prioritize and you have a hands-on, self-starting approach. Problems are proactively tackled by your problem-solving ability and ‘out of the box’ thinking. Sometimes innovative, creative solutions are needed to explore all possibilities. You have a business acumen and a quick and sound judgment.

You have the international mindset, are good at building relationships and you have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Towards your stakeholders you are service-oriented but also critical.
