Company Description
Can you really reach out to the whole world, while working in a tranquil idyll in the middle of nowhere? In Älmhult, you can. IKEA Range & Supply has the responsibility to develop, design, produce and supply IKEA retail channels with home furnishing solutions available to the many people. Each year IKEA Range & Supply introduces 2,000 new products in the 424 IKEA stores and other multichannel touchpoints around the world. The total range is almost 10,000 products. So, what happens in Älmhult definitely doesn't stay in Älmhult. It reaches practically every corner of the globe.
We are on an exciting journey the years to come where we will strengthen the core of what we do in Range & Supply. One of these areas is Marketing & Communication where the focus is on the strategic development of the IKEA product and range marketing and communication, brand building communication as well as communication to the many people inside and outside of IKEA. It's about sharing what we do and why we do it to create engagement and build curiosity and trust for the IKEA brand. The Media Relations and Newsdesk Team at IKEA Range and Supply is an important contributor in realising this work.
In the Media Relations and Newsdesk Team, you work in a global context with both planned and unplanned PR and editorial content. The team plays a central part in identifying stories and angles, develop content and share communication around how IKEA Range and Supply develops and supplies its products and range. We support the business and all IKEA markets with proactive content, incoming requests and advice when IKEA is being challenged.
Job Description
As an Editorial Writer, you are a part of the Media Relations and Newsdesk team. We go behind the scenes to tell the stories about our future products and innovations, our business, our collaborations, our people and our culture and values. We do this to support the long-term IKEA priorities and the Marketing & Communication plan and cater for the best possible support for the unplanned requests.
You will be working across several focus areas and bring your broad writing experience to each project to identify the story effectively, create the most relevant content with the target audience in mind. You will produce, collaborate on, and edit texts in the form of news articles, copy for social media posts, feature stories and information that effectively carries the right messages.
Qualifications
As a part of the team, you understand the needs of both internal and external audiences when creating content. You are also expected to give the best possible proactive and reactive support in the unplanned stream and take an active part and contribute when IKEA is challenged.
To be successful in this role, we believe that you have a strong ability to value the news and make re-prioritisation. You are strong in decision making and making sound judgments to make timely and effective decisions, both proactive and reactive. You have strong knowledge and experience of working with content for social media and the digital landscape, but also of the traditional media landscape and logic. You also need a strong understanding of how communication affects the stakeholder perception of the IKEA brand. You have an excellent capability to judge messaging for both internal and external communication, including how to bring the message across and create engagement on social media.
You are fluent in English, where it's considered meritorious for this role to be native English speaking, and it is needless to say that you have an excellent ability to communicate in writing, verbally and visually, in an inspirational way with IKEA tone of voice.
