Job Description

You see things a little differently. So do we. Leadership at IKEA is simple, clear and humble. We’re not fans of bureaucracy and complicated hierarchy. Come see things a little differently with us.

About us
Inter IKEA Group brings together three core businesses (divisions): Franchise, Range & Supply and Industry. Together we work constantly to improve the IKEA home furnishing offer and make it more accessible for the many people.

Our aim is to provide our partners in the franchise system with the best conditions to implement and operate the IKEA Concept, and to create a strong foundation for future expansion and growth. Read more about us at http://www.inter.ikea.com/.

We offer an open working environment where everyone feels comfortable to experiment, try new ways and dare to ask: “What if…?” And we offer possibilities for you to develop yourself and your career globally.

About the role
The Risk & Compliance function leads the design and oversees the effectiveness of the internal risk management and control systems and by that carries both the second and third line responsibility.
In the role of Internal Audit Manager, in which you have the Group responsibility for Internal Audit, you are performing internal audits (operational, IT, governance, compliance and strategic) and provide recommendations on the adequacy, sufficiency and effectiveness of governance, internal controls, compliance and risk management plans, policies and practices. You are an active contributor to the Management Board and Audit Committee by providing the annual Internal Audit Plan and the summary of findings from individual audit activities. Part of your role is also to lead and manage internal guest auditors and external experts. As a manager of people, you are responsible for recruitment, development, performance management, retention and succession plans.

We intend to execute the internal audits through co-sourcing. The internal audit team at Inter IKEA Group will therefore be modest.

For FY19, your main priorities are to:

  • Develop and agree the internal audit charter.
  • Establish relationships across Inter IKEA Group.
  • Build your team.
  • Develop an internal audit plan for the remainder of FY19.
  • Lead the selection of co-sourcing partners (external vendors).

For FY20, your priorities shift to develop, lead and deliver the long-term plan for internal audit activities in a business and risk-oriented way and ensure that internal audit activities contribute significantly to Inter IKEA Group’s development. You will also be running 5-7 internal audits and you continue to build strong relationships across IKEA.

This is a new role in a newly established team, so you understand that additional responsibilities may arise over time as this role and the organisation develops.

About you
You are down-to-earth, straight forward and curious. You are driven by content and at the same time highly value good relationships. You easily gain people’s trust and you’re eager to create and contribute to positive changes. You have a track record of being a passionate and humanistic leader, who always leads by example.

You bring the latest views, developments and techniques on internal audit and know how to apply IT as an enabler of your profession.

It gives you energy to build structure, simplify complex issues and improve efficiency. You are goal and delivery oriented with a drive for accuracy and excellence.

You have an active professional certification in internal auditing (CIA, RO or similar). Ideally, you have in total 10+ years of experience in both internal auditing and at a ‘Big Four’ company. It would be an advantage for you if you have previously set up an internal audit department.
