Transport and Logistics Services Area North Europe looking for 2 Business Development Managers:
1. BDM for international land transport services
2. BDM for domestic land transport services and overseas transport services

The positions is fulltime, permanent assignment, located in Warsaw.


IKEA Transport & Logistics Services organization is approximately 500 persons globally with purchase volume of 2.8 billion Euros, working in the category dimension of Land, Ocean and Logistics Services. We are responsible for, plan, purchase, operate and follow up the service execution of transports and services. Securing the needed logistics services capacity at the right time, with the right quality, at the right cost and in a sustainable way.
The role of Transport & Logistics Services Poland is to plan, purchase, operate and control transport of finished products from production units located in Poland to all IKEA stores and warehouses. We are also responsible to purchase transport services for raw material flow to IKEA Industry factories located in our area. 


About the job
Being the Business Development Manager, you secure business objectives according to IKEA strategic plans and Category Business Plan. Lead & develop co-workers both as high performing individuals and team. Aim for the wished position of being the preferred business partner for existing and new IKEA transport and logistics service providers. You contribute to the optimization of the value chain that creates better products and services at lower total costs, considering impacts of quality, safety, service performance, sustainability and other supply chain costs, to reach more of the many people.


About You

With knowledge and experience in the field of transport & logistics you have a strong capability to identify and capture business opportunities and deliver excellent results. You are able to lead on an operational / tactical level with the business strategy in mind. Your strong analytical skills and fact-based business leadership capabilities support making the right decisions and their implementations. Accountable to gather & share high level of market intelligence
You lead by example and have the ability to bring out the best in your team and the people and organizations you encounter. You identify very much with our values and enjoy creating an environment where the IKEA values are a strong and living reality.


About the assignment
Business development and performance: Accountable for business development and performance in all dimensions (price/cost, service, sustainability, quality, security) within given scope of responsibility (sending & service provider responsibility). Has always one foot in the business and owns the Business Developer assignment for at least one service provider. Accountable for professional and long term relationship with selected service providers through IKEA Way of doing business. Secures effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders within IKEA
People development: Leads & manages team of Business Developers and Transport Production Developers, inspires and empowers team and individuals to perform the best of their capabilities and continuously develop in their assignments, builds and implements leadership and competence plans to meet short and long term business needs.


 Additionally qualifications, you:
• Have working experience in a similar leadership position for min 3 years.
• University degree (Transport, Logistics, Economics) or equivalent work experience.
• Have a broad knowledge of the supply chain / transport / logistics environment & trends.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
