About the assignment
We are on a continuous journey to become even more relevant to our customers, in all dimensions, building upon our proven strengths.
As Sourcing Development Manager you are responsible for the sourcing of all products within the Business Area according to the Home Furnishing Business Plan, as well as the category plans. You are driving a high performing and diverse supplier base which can meet the needs of our end customers and make us the preferred business partner for both existing and new IKEA suppliers. To make this happen you have a Sourcing Developer team securing sourcing activities and total supply chain perspective in the product development process as well as performance for running range. You are responsible for recruitment and competence development of Sourcing Developers, and you inspire and empower your co-workers to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assignments.

As Sourcing Development Manager you will be working in a fast paced and inspiring environment, based on creativity and innovation, which gives you the opportunity to work and interact with people from all around the world in and outside IKEA.
You in your assignment as Sourcing Development Manager will be an important part in driving an intense transformation agenda into more sustainable and efficient material portfolio in order to lead the way to a more people, society and planet positive future.
The Sourcing Development Manager reports to the Supply Chain Manager in the Business Area.

Qualifications

We believe that you have a solid purchasing background with a proven track record and a good knowledge of the global market. As a base you have a university degree in Technology, Business administration or corresponding knowledge. Since you will take tactical as well as strategic decisions to steer the operations, a good knowledge of material, product cost and production is needed. Good negotiating and problem solving skills is also crucial. Based on the fact that you will be leading a team of experienced co-workers your ability to coach, give clear direction and feedback will be essential. You put people in the centre and have the mind-set that highly motivated co-workers are a factor for success and are able to create an environment of great energy, drive and enthusiasm.
You are a true team player as well as eager grow and learn, always developing. The people around you grow with you.
