We are a busy Dermatology practice in Rutland, Vermont seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Medical Assistant to join our team.

Job Description

  • Greeting patients and answering phones.
  • Posting payments.
  • Demographic and insurance entry/edit.
  • Appointment scheduling.
  • Medical records, processing referrals and any other duties assigned.
  • Maintaining a clean, neat and hygienic work area.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in chart according to office protocols.
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Record system
  • Assists physicians by performing administrative and clinical duties
  • Interviews patients to obtain their medical history.
  • Records patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical files.
  • Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment and instruments.
  • Assists physicians during examination by handing over instruments and materials.
  • Cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to maintain work practices that comply with established office policy and procedures.
  • Promote a safe environment for patients, visitors and peers.
  • Oversee and ensure that patients’ needs are met and that patients are served in an efficient and patient friendly manner
  • Respond to staff doctor needs before, during, and after patient exam
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, greet and check in patients in a professional, courteous, and timely manner

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in person and on the phone.
  • Must be friendly, professional and well organized with attention to detail.
  • Customer service 1 year (preferred)
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work with confidential information and under pressure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Job Type:

  • Full-time: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

Experience:

  • Minimum: 1 to 5 years of work experience in a medical setting
  • Preferred experience with Electronic Medical Record EHR

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Certifications/Licenses

  • Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma or Associate degree preferred
