Principal Software Engineer (Contract - .Net+API+SQL)

Working hours : 2-11PM

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be leading technology execution amongst a team of skilled software engineers to build out and maintain our Equity Management SaaS Application. 

You will be an expert amongst the team, responsible for ensuring the team is implementing correct solutions to new features, enhancements, and fixes to the product through work items planned in the current sprint and actively participating in planning, refinement, and retrospective meetings. 

You will be working in a product team, alongside Engineers and QA Engineers, following an Agile SDLC to create new products and maintain existing applications with C#, .Net, Oracle PL/SQL.  You will be a great fit for this position if quality is at the forefront of your development best practices and you are willing to continuously learn new things to better yourself, your career, and our products. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Be a leader amongst the team in solving complex software development items that meet customer expectations.
  • Review work items to estimate and assist junior engineers in creating design solutions.
  • Be involved with SDLC from requirements to test but own executing development of features & bug fixes that is clean, reusable, maintainable code in .Net, C# and PL/SQL.
  • Make necessary database changes to support ongoing development tasks
  • Build quality into all tasks, ensure adequate unit testing and support quality assurance engineers in testing completed items
  • Lead, critique and coach others in code reviews and architecture discussions
  • Lead cross team development efforts, identifying dependencies and resolving impediments other engineers encounter

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong Backend API and Database experience with large scale, consumer facing, enterprise level applications.
  • 10+ years’ experience designing and developing SaaS web applications using .Net/.Net Core, C# and SQL, preferably in a product development organization.
  • 10+ years’ experience w/database technologies – SQL, Entity Framework
  • 2+ years’ experience with cloud technologies (Azure/AWS)
  • Ability to mentor all levels of engineers in best practices
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs
  • Experience in ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) applications
  • Experience with Unit Testing and Mocking frameworks and concepts
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with GIT
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Strong collaboration skills – experience working in a small-team environment
  • Experience with Oracle databases, including writing/optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, and scripting is a plus
  • Experience w/front-end technologies – HTML5, SASS/CSS, Angular, Typescript is a plus
  • Experience with cloud technologies (preferably Azure) is a plus
  • Experience building apps in financial domain is a plus
