Job Description
We are hiring an Assistant General Counsel to lead insightsoftware’s commercial transactions team and contribute to other legal areas of the business, subject to opportunity and interest. The Assistant General Counsel reports to insightsoftware’s General Counsel and is an essential member of the insightsoftware management team. A successful candidate will be a dynamic, adaptable leader eager to lock arms with like-minded individuals on the legal team and other departments.
· Grow, lead and mentor the commercial team
· Ensure the Legal department continues to effectively manage significant deal flow that continues to increase as a result of continuous M&A activity
· Continuously streamline, scale and drive excellence in insightsoftware’s contract operations as insightsoftware rapidly grows by using software tools, new and improved processes/templates/guides, intellect and out-of-the-box thinking
· Provide practical advice to management and the Legal team on legal issues and risks
· Develop robust reporting and uncover insights into our customers, contracts and contract operations by leveraging AI and other capabilities of our LinkSquares’ contract management solution
· Negotiate complex (i) software licensing agreements, partner agreements and data privacy agreements with customers and partners and (ii) vendor agreements
· Regularly advise, support and problem-solve with our Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services and Finance teams
· Efficiently integrate newly-acquired companies into insightsoftware’s contract processes and operations
· Lead management/resolution of contract disputes
· Support in other Legal areas as needed
Qualifications
· JD and admitted to a bar in any U.S. state
· 8+ years of experience in software industry, including commercial negotiations in software sales
· 3+ years experience managing a team of commercial lawyers and/or contract administrators, including setting strategic vision, delivering results and building a high performing, inclusive, and engaged team
· Strong knowledge of key legal concepts and tactics in negotiations
· Demonstrated experience improving contract operations
· Thorough understanding of privacy law and information security issues as they relate to software contracting
· Strong experience with contract management software and other technology tools in support of contract operations
· People-focused leader who leads from the front and by example

Raleigh or Boston-based candidate preferred but remote candidates in the Eastern Time zone will also be considered.
