The Technical Writer/Content Developer works in the User Enablement team to write, edit, and design technical documentation for insightsoftware products. We are looking for candidates who are: 

• Capable of understanding and clearly describing complex technical information 
• Comfortable working independently and in a team 
• Confident soliciting information from subject matter experts 
• Capable of assisting other members in the User Enablement team
• Enthusiastic about learning new skills, technical processes, and tools 
• Able to juggle multiple responsibilities and shifting priorities 

What will you do?

• Write various types of online software documentation for developers, administrators and end users, in the form of installation guides, administrator guides, API reference content, knowledge articles and release notes 
• Work closely with Product Management, Engineering and other subject matter experts to deliver comprehensive and consistent content 
• Install and use assigned insightsoftware products, and develop an in-depth understanding of them 
• Contribute to documentation for multiple product lines
• Adhere to insightsoftware documentation processes, standards, and schedules 

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical writing experience in a software company
• 3+ years of experience with modern content creation and content management tools, particularly MadCap Flare/Madcap Central
• Fluency in the English language, styles, and conventions, with the ability to master technical concepts and explain them in terms appropriate for the target audience 
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with others in writing, editing, and reviewing large or complex documents 
• Knowledge of HTML, XML, and related technologies 
• Familiarity with structured documentation and single-source authoring 
• Familiarity with development processes for software and documentation, such as agile and scrum methodologies, CI/CD, and using Azure DevOps/Git for versioning 
• Curiosity about technical processes and tools 
• Demonstrated understanding of broader technology industry practices
  and standards
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Content conversion experience, particularly from older documentation systems to MadCap Flare 
• Familiarity with CSS, XSLT, and JavaScript 
• Experience documenting APIs using associated tools like Postman and Swagger
• Aptitude for conceptualizing graphics on complex concepts 
• Exposure to SAP, Oracle E-Business Suite, similar product suites, or database technologies 
• Experience working in a multi-disciplined team with geographically distributed co-workers 
• Experience creating multilingual documentation
