Job Description

Ingram Content Group (ICG) is hiring a Senior Library Tech to contribute to our team in LaVergne, TN just outside Nashville. As the Senior Library Tech, you will perform cataloging functions including adding holdings and modifying catalog records in library customers’ databases/bibliographic editors to add new items to the library’s catalog/bibliographic editor and/or enable Ingram to provide correct records and processing to the customer’s orders.

Required Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of library/library vendor experience or 2 years performing the duties assigned to the Library Technician.
  • 1 + years of experience with cataloging rules and national cataloging standards, including but not limited to MARC records, RDA, AACR2, LC and Dewey classification schemes, and Library of Congress subject headings.
  • 6 months of work experience that included walking, standing, lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, gripping/grasping, bending, squatting/kneeling, twisting/turning, climbing, crawling, reaching above shoulders, typing/keyboard.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience using BiblioFile or MARC Records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs copy cataloging and Z39.50 work in library customer’s bibliographic databases.
  • Adds holdings to and modifies catalog records in library customers’ bibliographic databases.
  • Applies libraries’ specific local cataloging conventions to cataloging records.
  • Creates and configures telnet sessions to connect to library customers’ systems.
  • Troubleshoots problems with books and orders.
