This role is based in our Sunway Visio Tower office.
The role
We are seeking an experienced sales professional to join our high-performing Malaysia team at Informa Markets Malaysia. In this role, you will drive revenue generation across our ASIAWATER portfolio, managing relationships with diverse customer segments while balancing retention, growth, and new business development.
As a key liaison between our clients and our global network, you will develop insights into customer needs and translate them into tailored solutions that deliver value in the water industry marketplace. ASIAWATER showcases innovations in water treatment technologies and water management systems that are transforming how we manage, conserve, and utilize water resources, addressing the challenges climate change poses to global water security.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Management
- Consistently meet or exceed revenue targets across assigned accounts through integrated sales strategies including digital solutions, exhibition space, sponsorship, advertising, and comprehensive packages
- Execute targeted sales campaigns aligned with account priorities, product offerings, and revenue objectives as outlined in the sales plan
- Drive on-site rebooking initiatives with existing customers in accordance with event allocation and sales targets
- Apply customer buying behavior insights to inform and refine sales strategies and approaches
Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities both within and beyond the existing client base through proactive outreach and strategic follow-up
- Engage new, existing, lapsed, and lost accounts through consultative conversations and compelling proposals, guiding clients through the buying journey
- Demonstrate initiative by independently analyzing data and applying critical thinking to uncover and acquire new accounts for assigned profiles
Client Communication & Presentations
- Develop and deliver impactful sales presentations tailored to client needs, including customized profiles for new prospects
- Share customer insights and market intelligence with the marketing team to enhance campaign effectiveness
Account Management & CRM
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pipeline, sales activity, and customer records within Salesforce CRM
- Ensure seamless handover of sales information and customer requirements to Event Operations and Brand teams via Salesforce
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- 4 to 6 years of proven sales or telesales experience with a demonstrable track record of achieving targets
- Experience within the water and wastewater sector or related industries is highly advantageous
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM is preferred
Technical Skills
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to proofread sales materials, brochures, and promotional content
- Ability to contribute ideas and content to support sales growth, including industry updates and relevant market information
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills

- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
