  • Full-time

Company Description

Informa is a leading academic publishing, business intelligence, knowledge and events business, creating unique content and connectivity for customers all over the world. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a member of the FTSE 100.

Taylor & Francis is one of the world’s largest publishers of high-quality, peer reviewed scholarly journals, books, e-books and reference works. We empower learners, thinkers and doers with trusted knowledge that advances research and enriches lives. We bring together diverse people, ideas and opinions to validate and publish the experts, theories and truths that matter. And we’ve been doing this in an unbroken arc since 1798.

Our purpose is to foster human progress through knowledge. We strongly believe that this requires us to encourage and examine different ideas and voices, so that any work that meets our exacting levels of quality deserves to be included in our publications. This requires open minds, the opportunity for robust debate, and the courage to defend perspectives that stand up to scrutiny, even if they conflict with our personal beliefs or values. Because that’s the only way to find the best obtainable version of the truth and, ultimately, foster human progress. If you agree, then we’d love to hear from you.

Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team at Informa. This role is pivotal in designing, automating, and operating cloud infrastructure that powers our digital platforms, including high-performance compute environments, data pipelines, and enterprise applications.

You will champion Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) adoption, ensure secure and scalable deployment practices, and maintain reliable cloud environments primarily on AWS. Working collaboratively with engineering teams, data teams, and product stakeholders, you will enable production-ready services that scale efficiently and meet enterprise-grade requirements.

This is hands-on role that blends DevOps expertise with modern cloud engineering practices to drive innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate cloud environments for digital platforms, including compute resources, data stores, pipelines, and real-time services
  • Architect and manage scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on AWS to support digital publishing and content platforms
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for deploying infrastructure, applications, and data workflows using tools like GitHub Actions, Code Deploy or similar.
  • Implement and maintain IaC using Opentofu, Terragrunt, and Gruntwork modules for consistent, repeatable provisioning across environments
  • Optimise cloud costs and ensure high availability and disaster recovery for critical systems
  • Manage core infrastructure layers: networking, identity, storage, DNS, certificates, and security controls.
  • Automate provisioning, scaling, secret management, runtime configuration, and environment lifecycle.
  • Partner with engineering teams to onboard new models, data sources, and services into production
  • Troubleshoot performance, networking, and system reliability issues to ensure production SLOs are consistently met
  • Automate testing, deployment, and monitoring processes to ensure rapid and reliable delivery of updates.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, CloudOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering roles
    • Proven experience operating production workloads on AWS is a strong advantage
    • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Opentofu/Terraform and Cold deploy) and modern CI/CD pipelines
    • Experience with databases, search systems, or high-performance compute environments is highly desirable
    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex performance, latency, networking, and system reliability issues
    • Familiarity with monitoring and observability systems (CloudWatch, New Relic, Opentelemetry)
    • Experience working with software delivery teams and understanding of DevOps philosophies, Agile methods, and Infrastructure-as-Code principles
    • The candidate will be an individual contributor.
    • Strong proficiency in Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and security best practices

    What Makes You Successful
