Are you ready to take your career to the next level by joining a dynamic and innovative team? We are looking for a Senior Conference Producer to join our content team for Africa Tech Festival, an iconic annual event held in the breathtaking city of Cape Town.

As a Senior Conference Producer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the agenda content for our core audiences, including telecom operators, tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors. This is an opportunity to leverage your research skills, creativity, and ambition to elevate an already market-leading event. Key Responsibilities

  • Audience Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research through phone interviews to understand the needs and motivations of our audience groups.
  • Industry Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the African telecoms and tech ecosystem, including buying and selling relationships, to support the event’s commercial growth.
  • Content Creation: Stay ahead of industry trends and create innovative, engaging agenda content that addresses the most relevant and pressing topics.
  • Speaker Recruitment: Identify and secure top-tier industry leaders to speak at Africa Tech Festival, ensuring the event features the best voices in the field.
  • Event Strategy: Contribute to the overall product planning and positioning of the event, ensuring it remains a market leader.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to craft compelling promotional copy and support content marketing campaigns that resonate with our audience.
  • Sponsorship Support: Partner with the sponsorship team to identify new target markets, articulate value propositions, and join sales calls with prospective sponsors.
  • On-Site Leadership: Take charge of content stages during the event and provide hands-on support to ensure its success.

Qualifications

We are looking for a talented and driven individual who can bring their expertise and enthusiasm to the Africa Tech Festival team. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualities and skills:

  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to establish and nurture relationships with senior industry leaders and government figures.
  • Prioritization & Organization: Exceptional ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining focus and delivering results.
  • Positive Attitude: A proactive, can-do mindset that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and convey ideas.
  • Adaptability & Resilience: Flexibility to navigate challenges and adapt to changing circumstances with resilience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in conference production, showcasing your ability to deliver high-quality events.
