Job Description

We are currently looking for a Sales Manager Asia-Pacific who manages the (hybrid) events and sponsorship Informa Markets Vitafoods Global & Food Ingredients Global portfolio, with a specific responsibility on selling the Asia-Pacific (AP) region into our Europe flagship events Fi Europe and Vitafoods Europe.

The Sales Manager is responsible for revenue generation from predominantly new and lost business customers. This role will manage Sales to all tier-level customers depending on the market and attracting new customers, with a clear prioritization on the key players for each country in the AP region. The Sales Manager is part of the core ‘Food’ sales team. This role is critical to the business, as the key to our success is retention, growth of customer relationships, and cultivating new business.

Role Accountability and Duties:

  • Be a true ‘ambassador’ for the Vitafoods & Fi brands, further enhance their positioning in the AP region as the ‘must attend’ EU events
  • In cooperation with Sales leadership team develop and implement a sales strategy including a.o.: Strategic partner outline (governmental, associations, universities, etc), Client level tiers and strategy, Exprom strategy, etc.
  • Test and optimize sales tactics to maintain and grow our portfolio of accounts
  • Collaboration with marketing to identify needs to grow leads pipeline
  • Proactively target and sell to (key) clients via telephone/ email with continuous outlook to grow the relevant segment (industry and geographically) & average customer spend
  • Day-2-day (tele)sales: Minimum of 3 hours of outbound telesales per day
  • Visit prospective clients (at competitive events) and relevant government bodies
  • Maintain & update CRM (SalesForce)
  • Accurate and timely detailed sales reporting
  • Play an active part in identifying sales opportunities (become familiar with existing and new competitive events & online portals to scope new lead companies)

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience in business-to-business sales ideally within the Exhibition media industry, with proven track record of prospecting and growing revenue from existing accounts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and, strong in objection handling (we have Premium products with Premium pricing, so price-objection handling skills are key)
  • Fluent in English, plus ideally 1 or 2 other regional languages
  • Network in the Food/ Pharma/ Nutraceuticals industry
  • Ability to identify and pursue cross and up selling opportunities
  • Ability to ask probing questions in order to proactively handle and respond to customer objections
  • Experience managing multiple customers and maintaining high energy sales
  • Energy and enthusiasm for the job
  • Up to 25% travel required
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM desired
