Job Description
The Director of Talent Partnerships is responsible for leading the team tasked with initiating, developing, and extending the relationships between VidCon and the top digital content creators, musicians, and traditional celebrities plus their teams of managers and agents. The ideal candidate has deep connections in the online video communities in Los Angeles, New York, and London, with significant experience leading talent teams and managing digital native talent. A strong passion and love of all genres of online video and music with an understanding of the global talent landscape is a must.
Primary Job Functions:
Lead the talent and creator partnerships team, overseeing all talent relations aspects of all VidCon events including discovery, outreach, travel booking, and onsite hospitality.
Build and maintain deep, strong, personal, and mutually beneficial relationships with top digital content creators and their agents, managers, and publicists.
Remain at the forefront of the digital and pop culture talent landscape, identifying new and upcoming talent that should be included in VidCon’s talent roster.
Collaborate with the Programming Team to identify talent and curate an experience that is valuable to each creator who attends the event.
Oversee and direct all elements of event-based talent hospitality including bespoke white-glove travel and on-the-ground experiences for all talent.
Expand on existing relationships between VidCon and agencies, management companies, record labels, etc., and establish new ones.
Advocate for and on behalf of VIP talent relating to their VidCon guest experience.
Refine and develop talent processes for all VidCons year over year.
Qualifications
Expectations:
Continue to grow knowledge of digital content and creators, expanding across all genres and platforms.
Display a positive and respectful attitude.
Represent VidCon in a responsible manner, even when off duty.
Follow set policies and procedures when a situation occurs.
Maintain a solutions-driven mentality.
Required Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to creatively pitch opportunities to entice talent to participate in the event
Proven ability to develop rapport and establish trust with creators, agents, and managers.
Strong computer experience, specifically with Airtable, CRM software, Microsoft Office, and various applications of Google Drive.
In-depth knowledge of travel booking services.
Experience:
7+ years working with creators and/or talent at a talent agency, management company, platform, or similar.
2+ years managing teams in a leadership position.
Experience with talent contracts and brand deal negotiations.
Hospitality or travel industry experience a plus.
Events experience a plus.
Experience booking and a general knowledge of the music industry a plus.
Education: BA/BS or similar 4-year degree from an accredited college preferred.
The pay range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
