Job Description

Are you a self-motivated individual eager to take your career in sales to the next level? If so, Technomic, a division of Informa Connect, is looking for you to join our team as a Business Development Associate! In this dynamic role, you'll have the chance to work directly with foodservice operators, manufacturers, and other key players in the industry, helping them drive growth and success.

You'll excel in a fast-paced environment, think quickly on your feet, and be driven by a hunger for growth. In this role, you'll lead the charge on prospecting, conducting discovery calls, and coordinating sales demonstrations to support our Business Development team.

With 1+ years of experience in a Business Development Representative, Sales Development Representative or similar role — you'll bring a proven ability to generate new business through outbound emailing, cold calling, and social media outreach. Confidence in developing leads and prospecting via phone is essential.

​Responsibilities include:

  • ​Conducting lead generation, prospecting, and sourcing high-potential leads within assigned territories 
  • ​Proactively scheduling calls with prospective clients via phone and email (including cold calling) 
  • ​Researching prospective clients or current clients to identify new sales opportunities, customize communications strategies, and ensure prospects understand the value of our extensive products and services 
  • ​Partnering with Business Development Managers to support plans for sales territories, with a goal of supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets 

Qualifications

  • 1+ years in a BDR or SDR role, or relevant work experience
  • ​Experience using lead generations tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesloft, Salesforce and other tools) to identify and capture key contacts 
  • ​Strong curiosity and interest in the foodservice and retail sectors  
  • ​Self-starter able to work independently and as a team with other sales professionals  
  • ​Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and experience utilizing CRM software for all conversations, opportunities, and metrics​ 

Further Information:

  • Competitive salary range: $50,000 - $57,000 plus commission, offering the potential for further earnings based on performance
