Job Description
The IU Foundation (IUF), in partnership with the IU Alumni Association (IUAA), is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and tech-curious project manager to serve as Senior Director of Project Management and IT Support. Reporting to the VP, Advancement Project Management, Support, and Technology, the Senior Director leads and provides oversight for enterprise project management, business process analysis, business process improvement, advancement school/unit advising coordination and prioritization, customer support, and IT training for IUF and IUAA to help maximize fundraising and alumni engagement programs.
The Senior Director manages a team of project managers, technical help desk staff, IT training staff, and support staff by ensuring successful planning, integration, impasse resolution, and measurement of operations to benefit IUF, IUAA, and ultimately system-wide fundraising and alumni programs.
The ideal leader for this position has experience with agile project management, is highly collaborative, and is a great coach and mentor. The Senior Manager will be responsible for reporting project metrics and making key decisions on project prioritization.
You need not be a tech expert or IT trainer for this role, but rather a great people leader with project management and IT support experience ready to help with escalations, prioritization, and process improvement to help the organizations be as efficient and effective as possible. Qualifications
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 7 years in management with a preference for individuals with strong project management, business operations, and technology experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or minimum Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
- PMO management experience preferred
- Experience with Agile and/or hybrid project management techniques preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience with large-scale project management and task prioritization
- Strong supervisory experience with an emphasis on mentoring and coaching in a hybrid environment
- Awareness of industry trends in project management, and performance measurement
- Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on negotiation, conflict resolution, and change management
- Demonstrated success in building an environment of trust, collaboration, and open honest communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Attention to detail and quality
- Strong organizational skills including experience with matrix/collaborative management
- Strong follow-through skills
- Ability to multitask and set personal and team priorities
- Demonstrated analytical ability for problem-solving
- Ability to handle stress and work in a fast-paced environment
