Job Summary:

Under general supervision, processes purchase orders (POs) for indirect materials and manages limited inventories of non-tobacco materials (NTMs) based on Production Plans. This role is responsible for ensuring that materials and supplies are ordered and delivered to enable process functions to run smoothly.   

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Creates and processes POs for all indirect requisitions; adjusts POs when exceptions occur; communicates order status to key stakeholders.
• Performs in-depth analysis of production plans, POs, and inventories to determine ordering patterns for NTMs.  Manages logistics parameters such as safety stock, transportation quantities, etc.
• Builds and maintains an effective working relationship with suppliers to communicate POs and advise of any adjustments needed in quantities or timing.
• In collaboration with the Production Planner, ensures materials are available for production, this includes but is not limited to monitoring inventories, identifying material shortages, and communicating to key stakeholders.              
• In coordination with Quality, addresses instances of rejected materials by assessing the event in order to plan and re-order.             
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field of study and 3+ years related work experience, OR
• Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field of study and 5+ years related work experience, OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7+ years related work experience
• Related work experience to include, but is not limited to:
  • Supply chain experience, such as materials planning and/or purchasing

Knowledge of:

• Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams, with an emphasis on Excel
• Proficiency with enterprise resource planning and/or inventory planning software

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field of study and 5+ years related work experience

Work Environment and Physical Demand: 

• Requires light physical effort.  Occasionally lifts or moves moderate to heavy weight objects (10-50 lbs.).
• Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.
• Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
• Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.
• Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape
