About the job

The purpose of the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist role at IKEA is to enhance the company's online visibility and drive organic traffic to IKEA.my, aligning with IKEA's mission of creating a better everyday life for the many people. This role involves optimizing website content and structure, implementing SEO best practices, and analyzing data to improve search engine performance. The specialist will collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective SEO strategies, attracting and retaining customers through a strong online presence. By leveraging advanced techniques and staying current with industry trends, the SEO Specialist will contribute to IKEA's digital growth, improve customer engagement, and strengthen the brand's online presence in support of overall marketing objectives.

Your assignment

  • Conduct comprehensive keyword research across all home furnishing categories on the website, not limited to commercial calendar activities, to guide content development and optimization.
  • Optimize critical on-page elements such as meta tags, headers, URLs, and images to improve search engine rankings for all home furnishing categories, including local store pages.
  • Develop and implement effective link-building strategies to enhance the website's domain authority.
  • Perform regular website audits to identify and rectify technical SEO issues, ensuring the website is optimized for search engines.
  • Work closely with Media Content Specialists or creators to incorporate SEO best practices into all digital content.
  • Monitor and analyze website performance using SEO tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and other relevant platforms to track and report on key metrics.
  • Stay up to date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm changes, and industry best practices to optimize the website's search engine visibility.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive SEO reports, presenting findings and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of local SEO strategies to improve the website's visibility in local search results.
  • Collaborate with the web development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code.

Qualifications

Your profile

  • Expert-level understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors, with a proven track record of improving organic traffic in e-commerce environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in keyword research, technical SEO, and analytics tools, with the ability to translate data insights into effective optimization strategies.
  • Strong technical skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO, capable of implementing and advising on technical optimizations.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing comprehensive SEO strategies, including local SEO, that drive measurable business results.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, able to communicate complex SEO concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach to staying current with industry trends and algorithm updates, applying innovative SEO techniques.
  • Outstanding project management and communication skills, capable of leading SEO initiatives and aligning efforts with overall business goals.
